Malala Fund

Founded by Malala and Ziauddin Yousafzai in 2013, Malala Fund works to champion every girl’s right to 12 years of education. Malala Fund invests in civil society organisations who are challenging the systems, policies and practices that prevent girls from going to school in their communities.

While at Malala Fund (2021-2024), I worked on the strategic management and implementation of Malala Fund’s signature programme, the Education Champion Network, which supports local education leaders committed to girls’ education. This was a $10 million global grantmaking programme that included shared learning and networking opportunities.

In addition to my role, I was involved various projects including:

  • The creation of Malala Fund’s first Young Women’s Advisory Council, a group of young activists who work alongside Malala Fund’s Board and Executive Team to inform the implementation of the fund’s strategy.

  • Launching global learning circles for global activists to connect, learn and collaborate across various thematic focuses including Gender Transformative Education, Girl-Centred Programming and Alternative Education Provision (digital learning).

  • Supporting the policy and advocacy team’s Girls’ Vision for Education research project.

  • …and much more!
